The Downtown Art Walk takes place on the 2nd Thursday of every month.
Safety
For a safe visit to Art Walk, please remember the following common-sense rules of thumb:
1. No public drinking on the streets. You are welcome to visit a local establishment for food and beverage, but public drinking in the streets, galleries, or other non-licenced areas during a public event such as Art Walk is not allowed and it is against the law. (See Municipal Code 41.27)
2. Keep the sidewalks clear. Walk in single file and allow others to pass by freely. Clogging the sidewalks causes dangerous overflow and unnecessary safety hazards that can easily be avoided through common courtesy.
3. Cross the street only at designated crosswalks. Crossing the street in any other location is hazardous and considered “jaywalking” which is against the law. (See DMV Code)
Hours
The Downtown Art Walk is from 12-9pm, however each art gallery has its own operating hours, with some not opening until mid-afternoon, and others closing in the early evening. Please check individual gallery websites to ensure the spaces you want to visit will be open when you come. Many Art Walk visitors arrive after 6PM, and the streets are crowded until about 10PM, then the activity moves into restaurants, bars, and private spaces.
Want to miss the large crowds? come between 3PM and 6PM.
Parking
Art Walk Sponsor Athena Parking Lot —415 South Main Street, 90013. $8 flat rate, indoor lot, no ins and outs.
